A Fantastic Journey into Jerusalem

18 April 2011

We must not forget the sacrifices Jesus Christ made for the
world. He suffered and willingly gave up his life for us. His love for us is
greater than we deserved. I am personally thankful that Jesus made a fantastic
journey into Jerusalem. Jesus has blessed me, my family, and friends during
difficult times. I’m eternally grateful of Jesus commitment to all people. His
mercy and grace give us another opportunity to repent of our sins and he will
forgive us.  I hope you will enjoy this inspirational message (Audio file: A Fantastic Journey Into Jerusalem)

John: 12:12-13, 16, 17-19, Luke:19:29-31,36-40,41-44 Matt 21:4-7, 10,11 Mark 11:8

Points to Ponder

  1. We should be excited about worshipping Jesus everyday of our lives (John 12:12).
  2. We should spread out our hearts, souls, spirits, and minds before Jesus as a testament of our faith (John 12:13).
  3. We must be willing to quickly obey Christ regardless of how strange the request might seems (Luke 19: 29-31).
  4. Food for thought, I wonder if the colt felt it was a privilege to have Jesus as his first rider (Luke 19:30).
  5. Jesus will always fulfill God’s prophecies (Matthew 21:4-5).
  6. There are times when we don’t understand God’s Word but eventually the correct meaning will be revealed (John 12:16).
  7. When we are in the will of God, his purpose will be fulfilled (Mark 11:4-7).
  8. We can’t stop the contagiousness of God’s Word when we are celebrating, and worshipping Jesus (Luke 19:36-40).
  9. We must be willing to share our material processions with Christ whether its cloaks or palm branches (Mark 11:8).
  10. We must cry out for the lost because they can’t see that Jesus’ Kingdom is coming soon and there will be trials and tribulations (Luke 19:41-44).
  11. Jesus will stir the hearts of people when He is in their presence (John 21:10-11).
  12. Jesus kingdom will spread throughout all nations and nothing can contain His words (John 12:17-19).

Something to Consider

We often celebrate the triumphal entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday.  As we read the bible, we get a small understanding of the peoples’ celebration.  There were people who didn’t like Jesus because Jesus had the tendency to reveal their sins. There were those who expected him to rule on earth as King yet they were blinded because of their own selfish desires, and expectations.

Jesus wept over Jerusalem because he knew the devastation that would come as a result of their rejection of him.  Jesus’ said Luke 19:42 “If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace-but now it is hidden from your eyes.”  What a tragedy when we miss an opportunity to receive God’s blessing.  We must focus on every small blessing and the small still voice we hear from Christ so we can act.  We must celebrate Jesus every day of our lives as if He was triumphantly entering our homes, work places, and churches.  Everyone will not love Jesus as we do but they must see how much we love to celebrate and worship Jesus in an awesome manner. We must share the light of Jesus as we live and walk among those who don’t believe Jesus is the son of God.  Jesus is our King, and He will finally reclaim the earth and establish his Kingdom forever.  We will celebrate, and worship Jesus forever and forever with eternal peace and joy.
